The building commemorates those from the District who served in World War One.  There are two marble tablets on which the names of soldiers from the Municipality are recorded. One tablet records those who served, the other those who died in service. The official opening of the hall and the unveiling of the honour rolls was held on the 11th May 1921.

We give a final reminder that the ceremony of officially opening the Wyalong Soldiers' Memorial Building will be performed tomorrow afternoon by Major General Sir Charles Rosenthal. All returned soldiers are specially invited to attend, and they will also be admitted free to the social at night.
