Picton War Memorial Playground was dedicated in 1951 in memory of the war dead. On Remembrance Day in 2006, the memorial was inaugurated and rededicated to commemorate all who served.

Members of the Picton sub-branch of the R.S.L. at a recent meeting finally decided on the type of plaque they will mount on the monument to be erected in the children's playground. From Wunderlich Ltd. they have ordered a metal plaque 38' x 12'. on which will be mounted a suitable rising sun badge. The lettering is to be raised, and after careful consideration, the wording for the epitaph has been composed. It will read as follows : — 'Greater Love Hath No Man, ' Children's Playground Dedicated to the Memory of OUR WAR DEAD A tribute from the Picton R.S.L. LEST WE FORGET 1951.
The Picton Post (NSW), 14th December 1950.
