The honour roll commemorates the men of Nundle Shire who served in World War One.

A handsome marble honor roll, the gift or Mr. F. T. Payne, of Wombramurra station, and containing the names of the 139 men who have enlisted from the Nundle Shire, was unveiled yesterday morning at the Shire Office, Nundle, by the Minister for Local Government (Mr. J. D. Fitzgerald). The function, which was timed for 11 o`clock was delayed owing to the breakdown of the car containing the official party.

The honor roll which has been set in on the verandah of the Shire offices is a very fine piece of craftsmanship. The main slab which measures 6ft. 6in. by 4ft. 6in., is of white Italian marble, is ornately outlined in brown King Edward marble. The names are in gilt lettering.
