Gunnedah Cenotaph was originally erected to commemorate the fallen soldiers of World War One. The names of those who fell in World War Two were added to the memorial at a later date.

The Gunnedah Fallen Soldiers Memorial was unveiled by Mr. C.L.A. Abbott M.P on Monday last. The memorial, which cost £600, obtained by direct subscriptions, has been erected in a central position in Conadilly-street, between the Post Office and Public School. There are 51 names on the Roll of Honour.
