Greta War Memorial was originally erected in memory of those who served in World War One. The names of those who served in World War Two were added to the memorial at a later date. 

The obelisk in memory of Greta volunteers for the front, is now almost completed, and it has been definitely decided that the State Premier, Mr. Holman, shall perform the function of unveiling it on the 24th instant. Several members of Parliament and other prominent gentlemen are expected to be present on the occasion.

Owing to the State Premier being engaged at an important conference in Melbourne, Mr. Hall, the Attorney-General. will perform the ceremony of unveiling the obelisk erected to the memory of Greta volunteers on Saturday afternoon.
