The monument was originally erected to commemorate those from Bemboka and District who served in World War One.

Additional plaques have been added at later dates with the names those who served in World War Two and the Koream War.

The soldiers' memorial at Bemboka will be unveiled on Tuesday next, at 2 p.m. The memorial is in the form of an obelisk, containing the names of all Bemboka soldiers. All district returned soldiers are invited to be present. A big ball will follow at night, with a Cinderella on the second night.
