The former Ipswich War Memorial Pool was erected to commemorate those who died in service or were killed in action in World War One, World War Two, and the Korean War.

The pool has since been demolished, but the original plaques have been attached to a monument at the former site.

Portion of the cost of this Pool has been subscribed by the citizens of Ipswich through the activiites of the Ipswich Memorial Olympic Pool Appeals Committee

This marker recognises the location of the Ipswich War Memorial Pool which was officially opened 2nd December 1961 and ceased operations in 2000.

Dedicated in perpetual remembrance to the men and women who selflessly serve our nation in defence of our freedoms.
