The wall commemorates the nurses who have served in the Australian Defence Forces in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. Plaques on the wall are dedicated to nurses who served in the South African (Boer) War and World War One. 

It is situated to the northeast of the War Nurses Memorial pavilion and is connected to the pavilion by an ANZAC Centenary Memorial Walk.
