The Queen Palm tree commemorates those who have become permanently disabled after service in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. Originally planted in 1998, the tree was rededicated on the 5th September 2001.

This Queen Palm was planted by Mr. F. Stahihut State President of the Totally Permanent & Disabled Soldiers Association on the 12th October 1988

This TPI tree was rededicated by Bishop John Lewis AM SSM on the 5th September 2001 at the 62nd TPI Annual State Conference in the presence of Mr V. Kleem State President and Mr B. Benson President of TPI Association Townsville
