The monument commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

It underwent an upgrade and relocation from the original concrete form work and wrought iron gates, displaying plaques to World War One and World War Two service personnel.

These personnel are listed in two Rolls of Honour on the front of the new memorial. There are two additional plaques on the monument, one to the memory of those in post-war conflicts and a dedication plaque.
