Koo Wee Rup & District Avenue Of HonourPrint Page
An avenue of honour commemorates the contribution of local servicemen and women who served in World War One. It is also a tribute to the servicemen and women who will serve our country in the future.
Individual plaques and an honour roll commemorate the 44 men and women from the local district who served in the First World War. The living memorial features two rows of 40 mature oak trees which represent fallen soldiers from the district.
The Avenue of Honour has been constructed to commemorate the Centenary of the Gallipoli landings, which will be commemorated in 2015. Funding was provided by the ANZAC Centenary Grants Program.
