VICTORIA CROSS GARDEN
The Victoria Cross Garden was planted in 1996 to commemorate the 96 Australians who have won the Victoria Cross from the Boer War to the Vietnam War.

The trees in this garden were donated to Victoria Barracks by Anglesea Barracks, Hobart as seedlings in 1996.  The seedlings were propagated from seeds brought back to Australia from pine trees (Pinus halepensis) on the Lone Pine site at Gallipoli.  Seven Victoria Crosses were awarded to Australian soldiers on 8-9th August 1915 at Lone Pine.
