These gateway columns consist of the original limestone first used in the construction of the Wheatsheaf Hotel on the corner of Wheatsheaf and Main  South Roads Circa 1840, and then used to build the football grandstand (demolished June 2002)

This site has been used as a sporting "Mecca" since 1845
