The plaque which was erected by the residents of the Shire of Alexandra commemorates those who served in the South African (Boer) War.

The ceremony of unveiling the " Roll of Honor" and Queen Victoria tablets in the shire hall, on June 14, promises to be worthy of the occasion. The council have applied for, and no doubt will be granted, a public holiday, and if the public will join with their usual enthusiasm in helping the committee to make the day a success, we feel sure that the display will be worthy of the occasion and of Alexandra.
